Why Apple WON’T recall the iPhone 4G.

You may have seen most of the tech blogs and media losing their collective heads (‘Antennagate’, ‘death grip’ I could go on) with the iPhone 4G signal degradation issue (not aware?  if you run your finger along the side of it – as we all do with our phones right? – it can drop signal/calls).  Now don’t get me wrong I am an Apple fan and a boy but I am no fanboy – and yes, it should work perfectly, but to say they are going to recall millions of devices is close to insanity.  Why?  Two main reasons. So an iPhone walks into a bar…

Whether you believe the ‘leak’ or not, the guys over at Gizmodo p(l)ayed what is likely the scoop of some of their lives extremely well.  Tease, launch, enable, crow, repeat.  Nice work.  Brand the assets, control what can be shared as much as possible, sit back and wait for the media to call you.  This is the power or Apple, social media and good strategy.  Particularly impressed with all this having happened over the weekend.  What’s YOUR weekend strategy?
